In the Loire valley, between Beauce and Sologne, the geographic location of the house offers many visits, walks and sportive activities within a short distance. At the doors of the Touraine vineyards, you will be able to discover in less than an hour of drive, caveman stone cellars and also to taste light and fruity wines. The amateurs of fine food will be able to taste, in the nearby restaurants a cooking with local gastronomy.

At the heart of the Loire valley castles, you will be close to Chambord, Cheverny Blois and Meung-sur-loire . Within a less than 15 km distance, you will be able to visit the medieval city of Beaugency, the historic center of the royal city of Blois, small villages such as St Dyé sur Loire, the river harbor of Chambord with alleys loaded of history and many small castles of which the castle of Talcy that inspired Ronsard. Mills of all styles, some of which can be visited, could be the goal of an excursion.
Few kilometres away, you will be able to walk along the Loire banks. Loire is the last wild river in Europe, listed world heritage site by UNESCO. You could also admire its magnificent reflections in all seasons. The forest of Chambord and its animal observatories are other goals of ballads just like Sologne,the first hunting region of France. Moreover, many bicycle tracks are offered in the surroundings (bicycle to rent in Blois and in Chambord). The region can also be discovered on horseback (equestrian Center and poney club, 3 km away), by boat or by a hot-air balloon

In a circle of 30 km: four golfs courses, a summer swimming pool and tennis in Mer, covered swimming pools in Saint Laurent-Nouan and in Beaugency, karting and motocross tracks while exiting Mer on Talcy road, water sports on the Loire (Canoé kayak to St Dyé sur Loire), leisure parks in La Chaussée St Victor and in Vineuil
In Mer you will find numerous small stores and two small supermarkets. A little more far, Beaugency and Blois offer a number of shopping facilities.
